We face a crisis of leadership in the church and its mission today.

Churches are multiplying at a rapid rate in many areas, yet leaders are not being developed to adequately shepherd these communities.

Susceptibility to moral failure and lack of integrity threatens Christian leadership and therefore the global impact of the gospel.

Lack of development opportunities and intentionality from ageing leaders to train and pass on wisdom and experience to younger emerging leaders contribute to the crisis.

Marketplace leaders are mostly ignored as Christian leadership development is considered as being restricted to ecclesiastical leaders.

Women, the youth, ethnic minorities, and people with disabilities are also often overlooked as candidates for leadership development.

Global change provides opportunities for the church to rethink and re-strategize her commitment to the Great Commission, but few know how to lead the way.

Uni-directional, western-centred, hierarchically structured modes of mission leadership have lost their efficacy—requiring an adjusted strategy for global mission leadership.

How can we see the growth of godly leaders?

Core Ambition

We want to see the development of Christian leaders who will spearhead spiritual and societal transformation in the world.

‘And David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them.’

Psalm 78:72

Take a moment to pray for your immediate Christian leader—that they would lead with integrity and diligence, and that they would grow in their skill as a leader under the direction of the Holy Spirit.

So what can we do?

Build a leadership development culture in your church, your seminary, your organisation, your team that gives priority to spiritual formation alongside leadership skills.

Commit to diverse expressions of leadership that are inclusive of the ‘whole church’ working in unity to take the whole gospel to the whole world.

Build a cooperative network of leadership development for all segments of society that extends to regional, national and international levels.

Grow in your knowledge and ability to employ polycentric mission leadership—working in unity with others while embracing and utilising the diversity within your network.
